On 16 March 2023, H.E. Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador of Thailand to Cambodia, led a delegation from the Royal Thai Embassy to meet with H.E. Mr. Cheuy Vichet, President of National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (NIDIR), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, to explore potential cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia especially in the area of capacity building for diplomats and government officials.

In February 2021, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and NIDIR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), encouraging cooperation between the two institutes on trainings, joint Thai-Khmer language programmes and exchanges of visits and publications. On this occasion, Ambassador transmitted three publications by the International Studies Centre (ISC), an affiliated unit of DVIFA, to the President of NIDIR, under the said MOU framework. Both sides expressed their willingness to further discuss projects of collaboration, especially in Thai language training and economic diplomacy courses.
