On 4 May 2019, the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh and the Thai community in Cambodia jointly held a Buddhist Chanting Ceremony and an Alms Giving Ceremony on the auspicious occasion of the Royal Coronation Ceremony of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. The ceremonies were presided over by His Holiness Samdech Preah Aphiserei Sukonthea Mohasangreacheathipadei (Bour Kry), the Supreme Patriarch of the Dhammayuttika Nikaya of Cambodia, accompanied by a delegation of 8 monks.

Many members of the Thai community in Cambodia attended the events and have contributed to the Alms Giving Ceremony. The Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh hosted a luncheon reception for the Thai Community afterwards.
