On 1 December 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy organised a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, and Thailand’s Father’s Day. In attendance were high-level representatives from the government sector, the private sector, the academia, the civil society, as well as the diplomatic corps, and Thai businesses in Cambodia.
 
H.E. Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador of Thailand to Cambodia, delivered his remarks on the importance of 5 December to the Thai people and the multifarious royal legacy of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. He mentioned the political, economic, social, and cultural bonds, as well as the cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia. He also congratulated Cambodia for its roles on the international scene. As the Guest of Honour, H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs of Cambodia, highlighted the close relationship between the two Kingdoms despite the COVID-19 pandemic, not only on the political and economic fronts, but also in human resource development, tourism, and labour. She also stressed the crucial roles played by ASEAN Member Countries internationally.
 
During the reception, the Embassy highlighted H.M. the Late King’s talent in music by inviting Pathorn Srikaranonda Quartet to perform some of the royal compositions. The Embassy also invited some Thai restaurants and companies in Cambodia to showcase their products and services. In addition, a corner was dedicated to promoting Thailand’s candidature to host the Specialised “Expo 2028: Phuket, Thailand”.
