The Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh seeks ways to tap economic potential with Thailand’s close neighbour, Cambodia, with an aim to enhance regional supply chain and connectivity as well as to promote deeper trade and investment relations between the two countries.
H.E. Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador of Thailand to Cambodia, met with H.E. Dr. Sok Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of special affairs: Multilateral Trade and Economic Affairs of Cambodia, on 1 March 2024, to discuss the cooperation on the so-called complimentary special economic zones along the border of two countries, to enhance economic benefits especially in increasing trade and investment, and supporting the industrial sectors of both countries.
Both sides discussed the potential of regional supply chain connectivity and integration between Thailand and Cambodia, on the issues of (1) trade and investment facilitation (2) promoting seamless connectivity through transportation, logistics and infrastructure linkages and development, and (3) linking the industrial sectors and SMEs of both countries. Two sides wish to set up a joint working group to push forward concrete cooperation in the near future.

ឯកឧត្តម ឈើតគៀត អត្ថាករ ឯកអគ្គរាជទូតថៃប្រចាំកម្ពុជា ចូលជួបពិភាក្សាការងារជាមួយឯកឧត្តមបណ្ឌិត សុក ស៊ីផាន់ណា ទេសរដ្ឋមន្ត្រីទទួលបន្ទុកបេសកកម្មពិសេស (Senior Minister in charge of special affairs: Multilateral Trade and Economic Affairs) កាលពីថ្ងៃទី ១ មីនា ២០២៤ ដើម្បីពិភាក្សាស្វែងរកមធ្យោបាយ និងកិច្ចសហប្រតិបត្តិការជាផ្លែផ្កានៅក្នុងការតភ្ជាប់តំបន់សេដ្ឋកិច្ចពិសេសបរិវេណព្រំដែននៃប្រទេសទាំងពីរ (complimentary special economic zones) ដើម្បីលើកកម្ពស់ផលប្រយោជន៍រវាងគ្នាទៅវិញទៅមកអោយកាន់តែខ្លាំងឡើងថែមទៀត ជាពិសេសការបង្កើននូវទំហំពាណិជ្ជកម្មនិងការវិនិយោគ និងគាំទ្រវិស័យឧស្សាហកម្មរបស់ប្រទេសទាំងពីរ។
ភាគីទាំងពីរបានពិភាក្សាផងដែរអំពីសក្តានុពលនៃការតភ្ជាប់នូវខ្សែចង្វាក់ផ្គត់ផ្គង់នៅក្នុងតំបន់ (regional supply chain connectivity and integration) មានជាអាទិ៍ (១) ការបង្កលក្ខណៈងាយស្រួលចំពោះការធ្វើពាណិជ្ជកម្ម និងការវិនិយោគរវាងគ្នាទៅវិញទៅមក (២) ការជំរុញការតភ្ជាប់នូវបណ្ដាញគមនាគមន៍ដឹកជញ្ជូន ភស្តុភារនិងហេដ្ឋារចនាសម្ព័ន្ធ និង(៣) ការតភ្ជាប់ក្នុងវិស័យឧស្សាហកម្ម និង SMEs របស់ប្រទេសទាំងពីរ ដោយប្តេជ្ញានៅក្នុងការបង្កើតក្រុមការងាររួមគ្នាដើម្បីជំរុញនូវមធ្យោបាយសម្រាប់កិច្ចសហប្រតិបត្តិការអោយកើតចេញជាផ្លែផ្កា៕
