On 26 March 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy organised a Buddhist chanting and alms offering ceremony on the occasion of the Thai New Year (Songkran). Approximately 150 members of the Thai community in Cambodia who attended also joined an activity of bathing a Buddha image and pouring water on the hands of revered seniors, traditionally as a way of paying respects to them.
