On 6 September 2022, H.E. Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup paid a farewell call on H.E. Mr. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, as he will soon complete his mission as Ambassador. Both sides discussed major achievements in the strengthening of the various aspects of Thailand - Cambodia relations in the interests of both peoples, including on the political and security front, economy, education, cooperation on the suppression of transnational crimes, management of the COVID-19 crisis, Thailand’s support for Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, as well as other key international issues.
 
On the same occasion, the Royal Government of Cambodia bestowed upon H.E. Ambassador the Sahametrei Medal for his dedication to the enhancement of the diplomatic, political, and economic relations between the two countries. In his reply remarks to H.E. Mr. Prak Sokhonn, H.E. Ambassador said that it is a great honour for him to be bestowed the said Decoration which he accepts on behalf of Team Thailand in Cambodia and the Thai Community in Cambodia because the Ambassador cannot perform his duty alone. Team Thailand in Cambodia, which consists of diplomats of the Embassy and 7 Offices, works closely together as a team to strengthen the bilateral relations, while the Thai Community in Cambodia also has important roles to play in their respective ways. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Thai private sector has contributed cash, medical supplies, food, and necessary materials to help alleviate the plight of those who have been severely affected by the pandemic.
